Crime of the Century

Rating my physical well-being, spiritual well-being,and psychological well-being is hard for me. I would have to say that my physical well-being is probably like a 6 out of 10 right now. I am in the process of losing weight and have lost 16 pounds so far, but I have more to go. I am not as active as I would like to be right now either. So I would say that I have improving to do with my physical well-being. My spiritual well-being I would have to rate at 8 out of 10. I am a very spiritual person, however I do have some improving to do here as well. I need to remember that God is in charge at all times and know that things happen for a reason. I do meditate and pray daily which helps me become better spiritually. My psychological well-being is a 10. I do not have any mental disorders that I am battling with right now. I am free from depression and other disorders.

To better my physical well-being I will become active at least 4 day a week. Being active for me means taking the dogs for a walk, riding my bike, or doing physical exercise. My goal for bettering my spiritual well-being is to go to church at least once a month, and remembering to turn my problems over to God and quit worrying so much.

Once again I turn on the relaxation exercise and there is that voice again. All I can do is shake my head and chuckle. This was another exercise I had to complete in my stress management class also. I cannot stand the fact that there is a pause in between most of the words. The ___ color____ violet_____ it is really annoying and does not help me relax in any way. I understand the need to speak slowly and calmly, however to pause in between every word is a little much. These are nothing but frustrating to me....

  1. Heather,

I really like your plan of using walking your dogs for a plan to increase your physical well-being. I think a plan like this would help me the most because I would have another being wanting to do it with me and pushing me to follow through whether I wanted to that day or not. I also think that this would work for most people, so I could suggest something like this to my clientele if I had one. I think the only thing I would add is to have a back-up plan for somewhere to go if the weather is not optimal. That would be a major contributing factor for me not to follow through with my exercise plan.

  2. Hi Heather, first off congrats on your weight loss. It is hard to get started, but worth it in the end :) I am thinking of taking up medidation or yoga to increase my spirtual and psychological well-being. Your goals of increasing your whole well-being are very good and achievable. On the exercise, I do have to agree with the pause with the speaker. I did relax however, because I like the chakras and doing chakra work with my clients.

    Good luck with your everything!

  3. It looks like you've got your path pretty well cleared out ahead of you, and that's great. We've all got a lot of work to do, but once we set ourselves a goal and follow through, the journey well be pretty clear.

I appreciated your comments on the audio recording. I find it very hard to relax with audio, especially when it is something that is required rather than something that I do because I want or need to.

I look forward to reading more of your posts and wish you the best in your educational travels!

  4. Heather,
Congrats on your weight loss! That is really impressive and must make you want to push yourself in order to lose the rest. I also think that walking the dogs is great exercise and not only makes me feel good by getting in some physical activity but also because it makes them happy. Nothing like killing two birds with one stone!

I once again agree with you on the relaxation exercise. These things are more irritating than they are relaxing because of that man's voice and the things he talks about. I just can't seem to settle down when someone is trying to tell me to do things. I do this much better on my own.

  5. Heather,

I have the same goal as you, and that is to go to church more often. I feel as if I am very spiritual and I pray often, but I don't always attend church as I should.

    I enjoyed reading your post.
