I LOVED this exercise this week. I really enjoyed listening to it and it actually helped me relax and think about things. The beach makes me relax and I used to love to listen to CD's with beach sounds so hearing the waves crashing in the back ground was awesome. This exercise really makes you think about what loving kindness really is and how to accomplish this. I would recommend this exercise to anyone and everyone. I think it could help a lot of people realize exactly what loving kindness is and how it should be carried out. I am so glad that I finally found a type of exercise that actually helps me relax and keeps from laughing.
A "mental workout" is training your mind and expanding it. It is training to mind to accept stillness and quietness, this does take practice. Being able to train the mind can open up different levels of wisdom, compassion, peace, wholeness, and happiness. Mental workouts are so important and can really help a person in their lives.
It is actually funny because this class is going along with both of my other classes. We are learning the same types of things, yet different things and each thing I am learning is helping me in each of my classes not just one.

Hi Heather, I am so glad that you found a exercise that made your completely relax. They are hard to come by. Mental workouts can help people with their lives. And I think they are slowly all helping us with this class and our well-being.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to hearing more.
With Love,
Bridget
Heather,
ReplyDeleteI am just as thankful as you are that there was finally an exercise that lived up to its purpose. The ocean for me is one of the most relaxing things on the planet because that's what I associate with home. I was born and raised near the beach and spent much of my childhood there. It makes me happy and remember the good times I had with my family. This also helped me relate with the message being portrayed here about loving oneself and ones family. I think relationships are delicate and should be treated as such. We need to learn how important the people in our lives are and how they help in our overall health.
Hi Heather,
ReplyDeleteI’m on the same page as you with our loving kindness exercise. It is such a useful technique to go through and discover more than what is right in front of us. Also, I am a water junkie! If you go to YouTube and type in ocean sounds or anything near that, there are a ton of ocean sound blocks that come up. I do this all the time to drown out background noise to concentrate on homework and such.
Equally important is the mental workout that corresponds with doing our loving kindness exercise right? I can relate to this and how important it is to be consistent in training. I physically train all the time with riding a bike. When I do not stay on top of riding, when I go to ride after several weeks of not doing so, it takes a while to get back to the level I was at. Experiencing this physically lets me know to begin and stay on top of the mental workouts for sure.
Thanks..Ron
